The future belongs to patriots
The truth is plain to see: If you want freedom, take pride in your country; if you want democracy, hold on to your sovereignty; and if you want peace, love your nation. No self-respecting and intelligent free man could take such an attitude.
Object of loyalty
It is a very great mistake to imagine that the object of loyalty is the authority and interest of one individual man, however dignified by the applause or enriched by the success of popular actions.
Pretended patriotism
Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism.
